Remembrance Sunday, 2022 – held at Kingston Lacy House. US 1st Inf Division and US 29th Inf Division ~ (reenactments). In WW2 – the US 1st Infantry Division were based in Dorset, and the US 29th were based in the West Country (arriving in Dorset some weeks before D-Day) – they embarked from Portland, Weymouth and Poole Harbours – together to storm Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
